Artist: Rick Veitch

The opening one-pager continues the story from the first issues: the old lady from the newsstand who had disappeared in #1 and the old man from the nursing home (#2) are Greyshirt's parents, Lips and Carmine Carbone. Together, they are kept imprisoned in a SUNSET van by Fanman, the mysterious producer of the "Franky and Johnny " movie.

YOUNG GREYSHIRT: 1989 - Know Your Fate
This story goes on where the "Young Greyshirt" story in #4 left off. Johnny Apollo's friends are hunting Franky Lafayette. The ex-pals meet in a showdown at Andy Savannah's studio (see #2) and "The Lure" (see #1) is also part of the game.

The story continues with the events at Indigo City's gas depot, known from Tomorrow Stories #3: the building explodes, Johnny is disappearing and Franky is saved by Rockefeller Patel.

GREYSHIRT: The Butt Kicks Back!
Old gangster Vinnie Assapunto is the victim of a mean joke which was carried on by different people and was always slightly changed. Vinnie is very angry about that and goes back in the chain from joker to joker, killing one after another - until Greyshirt is finally intervening.

This story, written by Dave Gibbons (Watchmen) is all about jokes and it wants to be funny. Veitch's art, inked by Hilary Barta (Splash Brannigan) is supporting the humor with its funny style.

INDIGO CITY SUNSET
Among other things, this issue of the newspaper features a horoscope and an article about the winners of the "Science Hero Awards" who received an "Alan".

Comments:
This miniseries is getting more and more complex. Though it consists of several small pieces, they all build a bigger picture together. Everything is loaded with hints and references and a clever reader will be able to anticipate who the little girl on page 2 and in the newspaper part may be (the riddle will be solved in the next issue). An occasional reader who just wants to give this series a try will probably not be very happy with this issue.
